Protest against NHS cuts outside the Royal London Hospital, 9 March 2011. Mark Bergfeld is a member of the National Executive Council of the National Union of Students (NUS), spokesperson of the Education Activist Network and is a prominent member of the Socialist Workers Party (SWP). He is one of the leaders of the UK student demonstrations of November/December 2010. In January 2011 it was announced that he would be challenging Aaron Porter for the NUS Presidency as part of a united left slate.
