Domestic rubbish being dumped on landfill site, Calvert, Bucks. Disused clay workings for brickmaking are reused to accept a range of industrial and domestic waste which arrives by road and rail. When the pits are filled they are covered with a clay top layer and grassed over. Methane from the decomposition is used to generate electricity for the National Grid.
